we were all up early...and excited to get the day rollin'.
made bacon and eggs because i'm such a gormand (is that the proper spelling baba?).
it fit the dairy and protein catagory that i was shooting for anyway.
we took two cars into 'town' and to the school.
all gathered in the gym for prayer and class dismissal.
noticed right away that my girls were in the wrong style of shorts.
darn that lands end...apparently giving them the school number does not guarentee the correct purchase. my girls were in shorts that were shorter than all the rest. i mean, they aren't inapropriate by any means, but the school has an 'at the knee' rule. i clung to my girls as they were released to their classes. i cried of course...but i cry every year..i mean, i would have never ever dreamed that i'd have such wonderful children to share my life with. this whole concept of motherhood was never more than a pipe dream as i was growing up.
so....at coffee and donuts a mother was asked to take me to the school closet to see if there were any shorts that the girls might fit. i gathered some and went on my way.
i did laundry and picked up most of the day. i do like having a firt floor laundry...it is convenient to say the least..however.>>> it is IN YOUR FACE all day long..so i'm not sure the trade off is worth it yet. as i sit here..i have two baskets of clean clothes...but they are not folded...and then will of course need ironed...darn that ironing...is that to be my big calling here in bg??? i never ever ironed back home...but now...hum....perhaps i'll just become a domestic godess...
picked the girls up...R was thrilled and very talkative about her day...V crawled to the back of the van and cried quietly for a couple miles. she gained her composure not long after we were driving though. so, she is going to be fine.
ice cream on the first and last day of school is a MUST so,,,in search of a parlor we went. found a baskin and robbins (who knew they were still around) near the school and we piled in to enjoy a cold treat. it was 101 degrees when we went in...
after that we went over our new parish to get registration paperwork and to introduce myself and the children to fr. j. very kind younger man. mr k found the play ground and i got information on what they call 'mother's day out'. it is a formal young child faith formation group that offers care for several hours each week. i will be back tomorrow to register i think. price is very reasonable at 15 bucks a day and i'm sure mr k will gain much from the experience and i'll make some new friends. V is excited because there is a bulletin board there to post a babysitter for hire sign.
tonight, hubby got the mower working and r and i had to run out to get sneakers. we can not...for the life of us find her sneakers...
came home, got the brood off to bed and now i think i'll join them.
Thinking of all you ....all the time!!!!
