the weekend is over...a new day has begun...

can you hear me seeing the song from Cats???? i'm sure some of you can..
we got through the weekend without much trouble. hubby was very busy putting together mr k's jungle gym...phew....it will save me trips to the playground....see the video for more info.

V had to plan and prepare a meal for health class. as you can see from the pics, she prepared zucchini and pepper, rice and balsamic/citrus salmon steaks. it was great coming home from work to a fully cooked meal...clean up was part of the assignment also...ha! Baba aren't you so proud of our girl!!! the salmon was really up to par...Papi would have loved it!!!

in addition to the meal, she baked and decorated an ice cream cake to take to our new friends home on saturday night. see pics for cake. she used a pretty nifty bake set to get the ice cream inside the cake. Mr. C (the recipient of the cake was much appreciative to have such a nice treat on his 49th birthday..)...He and his wife B are new friends of ours. they have 12 children ranging from married to 2 years old. they are from Wisconsin. B and another mom and I get together on thursday mornings to pray the Rosary. they are neat, and we feel blessed to have met some folks that we might get close with. plus...they have a pool in the backyard...that makes everything better!! tee hee.
Our Miss R held down the forte with the two little ones as V and I headed down to TN for a swim meet. R is an expert it diversion. When the little ones need to be redirected..she is right there in the mix suggesting other play things. this weeks new toy is play dough. she and mr. k have been making cakes of their own..with little teeny weeny candles. she gets right down on the floor with him...she makes me very very proud. there are times when i envy her ability to change gears.
V dropped time in all her events, but wasn't pleased with her heat finishes. Volleyball is over this week and she'll be able to concentrate more on her swimming....in addition to swimming for the club, she will be joining the Junior High School team. that will enable her to meet some kids that she will eventually go to high school with
