Blip in the Road

That is what a doctor said recently of Mr. B's diagnosis of NSCLC that is medical talk for non-small cell lung cancer. it has been an interesting week or so for us. We have had a chance to digest the diagnosis, prepare for more tests and then be ready for chemo/radiation.
Mr. B's right lung has suffered the most.
we don't know a whole lot more at this point. the doctor did give us a stage three marker but let us know that she wasn't totally done with that part of the diagnosis.
Mr. B had a PET scan on friday and will have an MRI tomorrow.
from there we will see a oncologist and a radiation doc.
we sat the big girls down last night and let them know what we know.
they had tears of course, and they will continue to have tears for a while until they to have a chance to digest the situation. we reassured them that their lives will continue just as they have been going. swimming and dance, chores and general life will be the status quo.
they even joked about how to decorate daddy's head once it is bald.
We have felt the prayers of those near and far.
We know that you want to help in anyway possible, and please know that when we know what that help might be - we will ask.
For now, we want our lives to continue as normal as possible until treatment begins.

Thank you Thank you for your love and support.
We miss you all very much - but feel strongly that for what ever reason, the Lord would like us to play out this next chapter here in BG.

Douglas' has agreed to use this blog as a means to keep you updated on his progress.
I will post things as i know them.
The girls will also be posting here as well.
I of course will continue my efforts at Creative Writing since challenged so long ago by my friend Helen B....ha!

have a great day -.....don't' forget to turn your clocks back and change the batteries in your smoke detectors.

Hi B Team:

So glad Doug and his friends shared a guy bonding afternoon. Our thoughts and prayers are with you every minute of the day/night. Only a few more days and we'll be there. We're only a phone call away or a 5 hour drive. Doesn't matter - if you need us - we're there!!

S - you keep writing and get ready to publish. JH called me this morning to let me know what was going on. I saw the blog post last week and knew something was up...then saw that it was pulled...and so. I told my "Gracie" about it this morning and she is keeping all of you in her thoughts and prayers. She sends a big hug to V and is holding her tight. Know that we are all here and praying for the very best. - Hel
