to all a good night

my sweet douglas is quietly sleeping.
he was very brave today...hanging out with all the old people in the chemo room.
he took rebecca's dvd player and his copy of Ben Hur!! i'm afraid to ask but hopeful that because he watched it today it will save us all from watching it on Easter....for some reason, my husband has insisted on the family watching Ben Hur each year on Easter....perhaps this will give him a credit balance..ha!

we are over the moon with the great news today.
we were surprised when Dr. Smith said...'your blood count is the same as a normal young man like yourself' i almost shouted an AMEN...( i remember threatening a few priest of the years that i would do that someday in Mass)

when we shared with him that the coughing fits have subsided (douglas can get through an entire children's program without one cough) he really seemed almost overjoyed!! the doctor pushed his glasses far down on his nose, looked at us over his lenses and just got this big ol' grin on his face and said that is 'GREAT'...we know what we are doing is working!!!!

I'd to tell YOU ALL that it is YOUR prayers that are working!!!! That is what i know to be true...don't you?
remember how miserable we all were a month ago...how despondent, disappointed, angry, sad....shocked....?

think about the peace that we have brought to ourselves with our prayers for someone else.
it is ok to feel a little selfish with the fact that YOU are receiving grace as well as the grace that you request for my husband and the grace that you have enabled him to receive through your intercessions.
be open to the generosity of the Lord as you sacrifice your time to offer up prayers for others around you.

i will bid you all a good night before i continue on and possibly sound a little more worthy of offering spiritual advice than i really am!!!

i thank God for the special graces he has bestowed up on me and my family and friends!!
