douglas' reaction to this chemo round is proving to be a bit different than his first.
he has small red dots/blisters on his scalp
he has bouts of out and out exhaustion followed by relative energy.
where as last treatment he was truly down and out for about 36 hours only getting up to go to the bathroom
this time, he has three hour power naps followed by about an hour of wide awake - come out and sit on the couch periods.
he even got dressed yesterday and had me drive him to Bob Evan's to get some sausage gravy and biscuits (he loves this....)
when we got there it was just way too crowded and a long line - so he agreed to just get take out and eat it at home. (won that argument!! one point for mommy!!)
last night he said that he woke up each hour on the hour.
he did get up and make coffee to go to work - he made it to the office but was back home by 8.
he napped for the morning and is now at work for an afternoon appt.
Rose wound up leaving early (noon flight today) for fear of being stuck here.
weather appears to be brewing up a large storm up north and her husband is going out of town first thing in the morning....her parents were covering down time until she arrived home in the evening but better to be safe than sorry.
we had a great visit.
she did all the things good friends do:
tough talk and advice
folded laundry
cooked dinner
did dishes
changed diapers
let me complain
let me be scared
made coffee
wiped noses
carried stuff to and from the car
watched little ones
challenged bit ones to be good
teased me
tough talk and advice...........
Thank God for Rose!!!

we are on our third day of binky abstinence....
i have to do a real good job of hiding them for katharine because he knows all the normal 'keeping places'.
i've also put a vinyl sheet on the bed in preparation for a full night without a diaper....

V said the SAT was easier than she thought it would be...hmmmmmmm

that is all to report at this time..

Hi B Team:
Bet you will miss Rosie - for oh soooo many reasons. I was concerned about her leaving tomorrow after hearing the weather report on my drive home. Supposed to get nasty in Cleveland. We might get 1-3" on Wednesday. I am so not ready for winter. Christmas in shorts would be just fine. Poor Mr. K - so many big boy things to deal with...so many Thomas the Train rewards. Geez, I never thought the SAT was easy.
I hope Douglas had a good day and even better night.
My Love and Kisses to all.
