he's on his way.

this is number five chemo.
hubby went by himself this time.
the doctor and i last time...well...lets just say i made him upset with questions
and i'm concerned that i may upset the doctor/patient balance between he and douglas. so i chose not to go today.
he will be able to run down to the Subway before the nurses 'bag him'
that makes me feel better
he will call me after he meets with the doc
i will join my rosary group in a little while
come home - change our bedsheets and get the blankets washed
wait for my mom and bert to get here.
tonight is the school Father Daughter Dance.
Bert will go along to drive and play catcher.
it seems that when you have more than one daughter - having another 'father' there is so helpful...especially when it comes to the 'slow dances'...that way some on doesnt' feel left out. now ...what the families do with more than two girls i don't know.....
mom and i will stay home with the wee ones ( i secretly hope get a fish sandwich from mcdonalds)
--------------
we had a nice visit with Fr. Jerry last night. he is great fun....you all would really like him...Katharine likes him so much that she ate half his frenchfries!!! :)
we talked politics which of course i loved..i don't know how he does it..with such a large parish and four weekend masses plus daily and then spearheading the building of our new church.....found out that he likes sourkraut as much as we do..so i assured him that i'd make sourkraut and pork and mashed potatoes soon and have him over.

katharine had her own ideas on sleeping last night.
up at 10 - then 12 and then screemed from 4 - 5....
it is so hard to let them 'cry it out'...man..........just when you think you've passed that whole stage....
you just lay there in your bed....muscles all tensed up around your neck as you watch the clock tick away the minutes...ugg, meanwhile you fret that someone else will wake up...
mr. k and daddy had fallen asleep watching Transformers while R and I watched Survivor so when she started to cry i turned off the monitor in our room.
douglas got up for the 10 -12 shift...rocking his sweet baby K to sleep and then found some rest in the recliner.
mr K and i slept for a few hours and then he popped out of bed and got in the chair with daddy....the two of them came back to the bed and douglas fell into a deep sleep...i could tell by his breathing.....it was a beautiful sound i tell you!!
then lu was back up and i just lay there listening to her.
i went to her once to make sure her legs weren't sticking out of the crib bars or something like that...layed her down....kissed her and then let her cry....
oh oh oh..i do think that is the worst part of mothering....that tug and pull that rules your body while you wait for them to fall asleep....

gotta run.......
i will update IF/WHEN douglas calls me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
note to you all: his cell phone was not charged SO................(do you think that was on purpose??? :))
