Random Thoughts with the help of Mr. Miller Lt.

I haven't really had any beer since we got back from vacation. that week i had enough to last for a while..not that i went over board..but..it was enough for a while. i ran out tonight and got myself a Miller Lite and i poured it in a big tumbler with an ice cube! I learned that from my Uncle Peter..he always put ice in his beer. It got hot today...81 degrees...and that just makes you want to have a beer in my book!!

i'm done reading the polls and it looks like my girl has lived to fight another day. I agree with one journalist that very plainly states that now she must find a way to convince the public why Obama is unelectable in November. I hate to admit that of course. Given the public's experience with 'the clintons' i don't think that he has quite the same burden of proof. which sucks. I'm not sure how she will do 'that' without getting shamless and i'm not sure i can support that...but then..i still feel very very strongly about having a female president! and i can't get all 'female' when it comes to fighting. men fight dirty...so can we...actually, i think women fight dirtier...but we don't admit it...but we (girls) KNOW it.
Selfishly i also want an opportunity to get a Hillary yard sign for my front lawn and one for my car and then have my picture taken in front of the polling place. Because, I do think that IF she gets the nomination..she WOULD beat McBush.

I fixed my vaccuum today. I'm so excited. Needed a new belt and the attachment part that you use to do the base boards had stopped wroking.

I have tried my hand at 'being handy' lately. Hubby and I had a good laugh the other day when i was trying to diagnose my radio trouble in my van. It has stopped working all together. He in passing suggested that i check the fuses. What a great idea...i was kind of pissed i didn't think of that myself...cuz i have been known in cars past to use quarters to complete circuits when the fuses blew. ANYWAY...i got under the dash and farted around. While i was on the ground reaching up into the guts of my dash board i laughed at him and told him that he was leaving me to deal with this kind of crap all by myself. It was a light-hearted moment and we both laughed. We have these type moments every now and again and it puts me at ease in some strange way...i like it that we don't always have to cry when facing our blip. I determined that it wasn't a circuit problem so i got out a screw driver to take the whole damn radio out when he stopped me...he thinks i should take it to our mechanic. I hate the thought of paying labor rates to take off the front part of the dash to only reconnect a wire that has jogged loose...but, i will listen to my husband. In the meantime for the past two weeks i have been w/o tunage in my vehicle. funny that i just used that word vehicle. they don't say 'car' down here..they say veehikle. Jesus Save me! and i'd swear that hubby today said 'acommin'.

my flies are back! I AM the Lord of the Flies i swear!!! i might as well pack up our stuff and move into a trailer because another summer of this will kill me. I know that the trouble is that i have the back door open and they fly in. my issue is that when i am cooking i can let the wee ones out back by themselves..but i can only hear them with the door open. i thought that i could get away with it for a little while for the spring and then convince my husband to install a screen door for me when summer hit. i'll be picking up those gross fly strips this weekend and doing my best to talk hubby into a door.!!

speaking of cooking. i have found that there are two types of women. Those that plan out their weekly menus and then shop and those that shop and then think about what they'll make each day as it comes. For what ever reason i am the former and always have been. all the way back to our first days of marriage and i would plan out what days we'd have tuna helper and hamburger helper!! WOW...what a newly wed!! YIKES>.. anyway, it seems that each week i pick a different cookbook to work from and then plan menus from it. This week I chose my Robin Miller book that Santa brought. she has an interesting format where she prepares a primary meat and then creates 3 to 4 meals from that meat to be prepared the rest of the week. This week is Beef and Pork. I made pot roast yesterday, spared four cups of the cooked beef and then made beef empenadas for dinner tonight. Tomorrow comes the pork roast and then stuffed cabbage rolls one day and then won ton soup/pork fried rice the next.
my poor family rarely gets to eat the same thing twice...and because i'm 'short term memory loss' mommy, i can't remember what they do like and then make it again!! which reminds me..i promised Fr. Jerry pork and sauerkraut...I've got to get that in my Franklin.

this weekend my folks are coming down. we have a few missions. SAMS club, consignment shopping for a Kitchen for Lu, spring musical for Mr. K and R's choice of restaurants. I'm sure hoping she chooses the Japanese one so we can get some sushi...(although, she and i are the only ones in our family that like sushi) and then i'm also hoping to get some KFC. I realized today that we were eating it every three weeks with doug's chemo. that was one of the few things that tasted good to him so i got used to eating it....

both of our daughters have successfully completed 'logical consequences' this weekend I certainly won't roll them under the bus and tell you what they did,,,but ..... proof of the ebb and flow of parenthood!!

i checked out Pilates classes here in town. man, they are expensive....better than $35 per class. jazzercise is that for a whole month for as many classes as you want to take. suffice it to say,,,i'll just keep 'sweatin to the oldies'.

i had mentioned that i have been thinking about the polygamist and writing about them. i must admit that i am thinking about some funny things rather than serious. i will perhaps save my humor...and say this, i'm not sure why 'we' needed to go in and disrupt the group. I am conflicted about the idea of these young young girls beginning motherhood at such young ages...but that only smacks badly to 'us'. they see it as a way of life. they don't see any 'wrong' in it. they don't (seemingly) think that they are doing anything out of the ordinary. (and, you know,,,our population stagnation might garner our attention to this - not that 13 is a good age...but...waiting until your 40's isn't doing our world any good deeds either. i agree with stalker Hel that the genetic testing is a waist of time/effort/money. it is obvious that they are doing what every they can to raise a case against the 'man'. and, if our genetic philosophies prove true, won't this group implode at some point anyway???? grow a third leg or eye??? woops, i'm getting funny.

i do think that i'm running out of steam and will do some editing and go to bed!!
love and kisses to everyone!!
