all is well..day is done...gone the sun.........

probably what our girl V is singing right about now!!! sure do miss her...

made it down to dr. smith's office in time to hear results. good news is there was no reason other than the obvious for pain. that blasted tumor there in the lung must just be pressing toward the back right now....we'll just have to BLAST it back with the radiation!! damn thing.... dr. smith kind of said his goodbyes to us....since hubby will only be pursuing radiation until we get to the james...we won't be needing his services (poisons) so we had a little hug....took a picture..and then he told doug...now....get your tissues out ladies...
he said...'i have a few role models in my life, if i find myself in your shoes, it is my hope that i can handle things just as well as you have'...he said something about hubby and i being a good team together..and we laughed that i had been giving him 'hell' for the past 9 months...:) i of course asked him the million dollar question...if he had only one drug to take...what would it be?..and he said the Alimpta. so, we hold that info close-do the radiation and then get the hell home to see what the folks at the james have up their sleeves. it was sweet...he really enjoyed seeing Lu....last time he saw her she was just learning to walk....
i won't say i'm going to miss him...but he was attentive to my husband's needs..and that is what i expect!

so, now that you all are up to speed...
can i just tell you that the distribution of housework gets upset when one of us is gone. man, does V owe R and I when she gets back!! tee hee...i cut the grass tonight. now, at least it wasn't 90 degrees and i did have some miller lite...so it wasn't that bad...but....(here is my engaged encounter talk coming out) one of my expectations of marriage was Number 1..NEVER cut the grass again...= now remember,,,i'm the only child...so...once i was old enough...it was my job...every week...every month ....ugh... Number 2 Never take out the trash...again...the only child's job!!! with hubby traveling so much.. i kind of had to give up number 2....and Number 1 was covered either on the weekends by hubby, sometime V and then sometime darling F from next door would help us out!! Tonight...it was all me...our mower has to be Jerri rigged to get it started...hubby bent a coat hanger in such a way that when you use pliers to pull over this tab...you slip this coat hanger piece down in the hole and then you can pull the lever....the self propel part has never worked...so...no expectation there..but man...i had no idea what my kid has been dealing with...after hubby helped me get the monster started...i very kindly like said...'go get a new mower and lets surprise V with it when she gets home'!!! if i were smart of course.. would have waited until he got back with it to finish our lawn..but...no guts - no glory!! and heck, sweating counter acts the caloric count in the beer...so i figure it was a wash....:) and...physical work is good for ones character...RIGHT?????!!!

R has been having to load and UNload the dishwasher and then do all the babysitting by herself plus all incidental housework and toy pick up....hmmmmmmmmmmm i wonder if this will be the Turning point when she decides....'getting away from the house can be a good thing'!!!! and maybe, just maybe my little velcro girl will take off for a couple days in the future?? what do you think?? we'll see if she comments...

hubby's conversation with his boss went well. she is so so kind...and very down to earth and genuine! he said she was crying on and off most of the day. she is sad...sad for everyone concerned. i know that he will miss her just as much as she will him! next he will need to call the surgeon that he has developed a relationship with. When hubby got here...the previous Prosthetist had done his job in such a way that this particular surgeon refused to refer patients to hubby's company. It was a big hurdle for hubby to jump when he arrived down here...but one that he Flew over...the surgeon just loves him....he even dropped off a nice book when hubby was first DX'd. i know that that will be another difficult conversation to have...

our wonderful Fr. Jerry and i have only been able to talk via email. he is so great!!! so very very great..and i don't want to just fall apart and be a rambling idiot when i finally do talk to him. i owe him pork and sauerkraut (its what i'm famous for in my family) and i'll pull that together b4 we leave...he has just been so attentive to hubby. b4 all this started..he just kept an eye on hubby.especially when hubby was driving home each and every friday nite and then back on Sunday. i'll never forget...our first Mass when we moved in that week...when Fr. asked for good news...hubby stood right up (and you know, ,,, that ain't easy for us northerners) and said..i've finally got my family with me!! and Fr. hollard back to hubby by name and just beamed...and the other parishioners clapped and then Fr. told them all about our little story....CAN YOU BELIEVE IT????
gee, how well do you think that type of public sharing would go over back home???
it is kind of cool...you just have be good at cutting off the ramblers!! ha!

oh, wanted to let those back home know...Mrs. T dropped off some uniforms for V...we should be set until winter..and then of course it will be the agonizing trip to look for 'kewl' navy pants!! AND...someone let me know when the swap is...that way i can get it on my calender and send Nana over!!

alright..i sign off for now...
Thank God for small miracles eh??? we are good tonight...all is well...day is done....gone the sun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(that is why i ripped out the bushes in case anyone wondered.. we just got sidetracked with two new babies!!
