notes from the paper coverd bed....

after waiting exactly two hours...the radiologist came into the room. he began with chit chat and then turned to me and offered a very sincere apology for how badly our first meeting had gone. he admitted that when we left that day, he to felt that the meeting had gone wrong....but he knew that he also was to be the one to deliver the bad news...and being tough and to the point is the way he does that.......
i felt better and more open to listen to what he had to say....
he did a big once over on hubby. feeling him up and down...front and back....found the painful spots...listened to the lungs and got a brief history of the past 9 months. he agreed that now is the time to consider radiation for comfort control...in addition he is committed to getting to the bottom of the knee pain. it could be a side effect of the chemo...but more likely it is a result of the nerve bundles in hubbys sacrum putting pressure in a spot that send the pain down to his knees. to be sure, hubby will get another PET scan in the morning...this scan will go all the way down to the feet....i imagine we'll hear from the doc sometime tomorrow and hubby will begin radiation next week. radiation is given every day m-f for three weeks...it could go to four - it depends on how hubby's chest responds.
so........stay tuned!!!

in other news....mr. k would like to 'go to uncle pete and take the fire off of him'...our dear friend Pete is healing well from his human torch event! mimi forwarded us some recent pics of him.!!!! we love you uncle pete!!! looking forward to see you soon!!!

Also praying for good news from the scan.
