puttin' on the ritz.....

i love love love that song....i used to have a cassette tape of Fred Astaire...got it from my gram.....

tomorrow we will be puttin' on the ritz at OSU......

hubby was informed yesterday that he will be participating in the third arm of the clinical trial. btw..the trial is CALGB 30704 this particular arm is meant to assess the efficacy of pemetrexed plus Sunitinib in the Second Line Treatment of Advanced Non-small cell lung cancer (to be exact) . The Pemetrexed is given by IV once every three weeks and then Sunitinib is a pill taken daily. Hubby can expect to go Kojak on us again...i've gotten all of his hats out already and will naturally be at risk of infection....

because of the risk of infection....we've positioned a box of 'procedure masks' by the back room door. all visitors will be required to wear one...and of course wash their hands. i respectfully request that if you are or you think you are suffering from some type of ailment...don't come a knockin cuz i won't let you in!! nana has suggested that we have a 'best decorated mask' competition!! i think Hubby would think it was funny!!

I purchased my bottles of bleach spray today...ha ha. until we know how this type of chemo will affect hubby...we will lay low the next week or so. he did so OUTSTANDING with the chemo last time...that i don't expect anything different this time...a shout out to aunt sue who will be coming over to stay with the wee one's while we are at the docs.

friday i have my first shift at macy's; well actually they call it buddy training!!!! i'm pretty psyched...and since i'll be in the Juniors department i just had to buy the sept. issue of Vogue. ( i always get the sept issue....total guide to fall/winter dressing....) it's research!!

i know i should be watching 'whats her name' on TV....but....i know my friend Julie K will send me a big long email in the morning detailing Sarah's high points....
love love love U JK!

oh, and you know what..i've been meaning to tell 'the bathroom contingent'...the Vera Wang towels are SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!! I'VE NEVER IN MY LIFE USED SUCH A WONDERFUL TOWEL...AND THEY WASH UP JUST LIKE NEW!! and i did notice that THESE towels were in MY bathroom!!! along with MY tile and MY new paint and MY new shower curtain and MY stocked cubhoard!! i'm thinking i'm going to do my own 'Favorites' list..ya know...like my number one gal Oprah!! but i promise...my favorites can be purchased right here in buckeye country...
speaking of country....i tuned into the local country station today...cuz i'm missin' my southern girls!!!!!!!! and my southern Fr. Jerry!!!! i even made fruit salad in honor of my friend Christine!! then she called...how weird is that??

can you believe what my Peach wrote yesterday??? I was blown away!!! simply blown away!! i know your comments meant much to her!!! I feel that she's got the writing gene and will be signing her up for a writing class in German Village just as soon as i can. i even mentioned this evening that maybe she and her sister could 'colaborate' (one of her spelling words this week) on a book...Peach could write and Tink could illustrate!!!

DAMN...we made some talented kids didn't we??? Man...who'd-a-thought?

we got a new driveway the other day...it looks wonderful..so smooth and black...V can't wait to get at it with the sidewalk chalk...speaking of...i've gotta find out who does the shamrock??? i have a picture of YOUR BACK and i can't tell who you are!! . (for those not from EMO..here in our hood we have shamrocks painted on the driveways of folks that belong to the parish/school. they are very kewl!! kind of like a block watch for the kids if you ask me!!) we also got our annual Roto Rooter foam action taken care of!! our drain tile is fine...just some root growth through the pipe seams that always seems to cause us trouble in the fall and in the late winter/early spring...the other night Ms. R came running up the stairs to tell me that the drain was overflowing with laundry bubbles. no damage...was able to stop the hemorrhage pretty quickly and hubby had the Rooter dudes out by 10am the next day!

i also need to mention that if someone in the hood ordered POP...it got delivered to my house by mistake!!! i'm the POP queen right now...better act quick!!!

Mr. K had his first day of preschool today. Daddy and I took him and within 5 mintutes he was perfectly content and we were on our way out the door. Daddy picked him up and it seems he had a great time...playing..singing...playing...with 'mikey'. i'm so very very happy that he has the opportunity to continue his preschool here ...he had worked so hard last year and i was worried that i'd loose that 'time'...

Now LU on the other hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!that CRAZY girl can't decide which toilet she wants to play in first when she gets up.........i CAN NOT keep track of her in this big'ol house!! i'm not kidding....i'm going to have to put bells on her shoes....she is into everything....i can't unload or load the dishwasher with her around or she's running off with my Henckles........

alright..i'd better head off to la la land!!or wherever hubby is moving the rhododendrons to 2nite (last night he sat up in bed and told me he had moved two of them...i don't even think he KNOWS what a rhododendron is.....he must be so happy with the front yard landscaping he is tending it in his sleep!!)
i had told myself that i was only sitting down at this computer to finish inputting the chores in the chore chart database....and..here i am...an hour and two Bud Lights later. if anyone is neurotic like me and is interested in a chore chart..send me an email and i'll give you the link to the one i use. it totally rocks.

will let you all know how we wind up in the morning!!!

An extra prayer was said for Doug and you this morning.
A chore chart, that sounds like something I should use as I sit here and not doing the computer work and bookeeping I am supposed to be doing. Yesterday was a waste as the nursing home phoned in the morning that my mother-in-law had fallen, Long story short she broke her upper arm and pelvis. I got home at 8 pm after spending 9 hours in emerg.
God bless you all.
