found this card when we first moved into this house 5 years ago.
thought it was interesting....and then pretty much forgot about it.
i don't know HOW ... but this card mysteriously reappeared ....
in the same place...the Bathroom upstairs in the master!!
not that the place really means much...

but....check it out.

i can remember my uncle (great uncle really) who was a professor and he traveled the world over. i'm not sure that i ever really had a conversation with him...but i had plenty of goodies sent to me from his destinations and adventures. i can remember being told that he had 'gone behind the iron curtain' and when my mother would tell others that their eyes would get really big...

i remember that for all of my younger life the russians and communism were considered a threat to our existence as human beings and should the 'reds' push the button all of america would be annihilated in a split second. communism and rubber bracelets were two of the most vivid memories i have of the 1980's. i have poetry (somewhere) that i wrote expressing fear and anxiety over being killed by a nuclear bomb. i was told that given my homes physical proximity to a defense supply center we would be a primary target should the 'commies' decide to 'bomb' us.

i don't really remember ever being asked to pray for a communist though. i just remember being afraid of them and thinking that i could be blown to smithereens at any moment; but....if this card is true...SOMEone was prayin' cuz we aren't so concerned about the russians or communism anymore are we?. (although i do believe that Putin wants a new cold war - but perhaps that will be a peach war since he wants Georgia....hm....how about a peach schnapps war)(oh,,,the fuzzy navel....man...that drink made my father famous back in buffalo!!)

i digress...how unusual...might be the miller lite ...you know...ALL that beer that nobody drank on sunday!!! i must claim responsiblity however...i failed to consider the OSU game the night prior...how dare i .... that is like a sin around these parts...but you know me.....football....that is the brown oval ball ...rIGHT???? the only reason mr. K even knew what a football was is because MGR brought one over after he was born....i laughed and laughed that after all this time in my life...it was the first time i'd had a football in my own home....
ok...now i really digress.

so i think what i'm getting at...cuz i know you want me to Get At It....is this....
we are told in scripture to pray for our enemies right?
i know it works cuz at my first salary paying job there was this lady...who really just didn't like me...or i thought that was the case...and i felt her beedy little eyes all over me ALL of the time....and i spent many many hours sweatin' that lady until i realized that i should be prayer FOR her rather than praying for protection FROM her. by the time i left that job i was bummin' smokes off of her....and we'd have coffee together in the morning....

we now find ourselves fearful of the muslims...unless you are a crazy skin head and are afraid of a black man in the white house.
we have had our 'missle crisis indeed' in the form of 911....
some crazy people are afraid we're loosing God in our own country....
(that is the whole money thing....give what is Caesars' to Caesars and give what is God's to God) (that would be the Gospel that Fr. Lumpe and i disagreed about by the way...)
shouldn't we consider praying for the muslim souls...and the Jihad.
perhaps if we have these little cards reworked and printed up and distributed...in a twenty years or so...muslim terrorism won't exist...
of course we'd have someone else to praying for by then...but...
you know....
we are told to pray for our enemy!

Everyone has a Guardian Angel. Will you join in prayer with the Guardian Angel of an unknown muslim and ask for his conversion? Then when you stand before God yoy may met face to face the Soul which has been brought there through YOUR efforts.

if i had even an ounce of my husbands artistic abilities i'd put a little turbin on the little guys head...and come to think of it...who knew that a communist looked so much like Bob Hope in profile....
and what color is the jihad anyway....???
