actually, i don't think i'm a bleeding heart....i just think i tend to be a bit left of center or maybe even a bit right depending on the issue.
anyway!!!!!
i was so excited to attend my first (of three) Grant Writing classes this morning.
there was no assigned reading or any prep work required to attend so i went in cold.
there are only three of us out of probably 30 people that are NOT employees of local Non-profit organizations. not that i expected it to be any different mind you. i introduced myself as someone looking into second career possibilities. another woman is kind of in the same boat and then there is an Econ major from OSU....
today's topics included how to research for Grant Opportunities on-line, a presentation by the Columbus Foundation on their new Power Philanthropist program (very kewl)and a group exercise.
next week we get into the nitty gritty of Grant Writing ie: structure and content.
it felt great to just be in a situation where i was learning something totally new!! stretch my mind a bit...
