took my Sparkileee Green Holiday Sweaterset out for a night of dancing and potential debauchery yesterday. this poor sweaterset has seen me through 12 Christmas seasons. Purchased the year Miss R was born with the intention of wearing to my company Christmas party but wound up in a suitcase stuck in O'Hare airport instead.
let me offer my sincerest apologies that i don't have a picture...but ya'll have seen it b4...
so after grabbing a bite to eat at Planks we headed out to the Park Street to see Sharp Circle. Sharp Circle is a band that we started to stalk last year. i wouldn't call us groupies...but perhaps close. they are a cover band musically educated right down the street at Capital University. they play great dance music and even have a horn section!! so yee haw when we see them
while waiting to see the band however...we found ourselves next to a group of younger folks. dark haired good looking group of about four. two very polite young men asked my friend and i our names...we told..and right away the very pretty dark haired girl with the dark haired boys belted out
"oh sherry...our loooooveee ..holddddsss onnnnn....holddddssss onnnn"
i laughed and said i was named after the "original version"
to which the young lady said.."oh my gosshh...Steve Perry??"
as i glanced at my friend...i replied "no..Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons"
blank stare
crickets - chirp chirp
sweet vacant smile...
nervous laughter.
Beer puleez
and that is not to say that i don't like the Steve Perry version...i can remember sitting in my living room in Buffalo watching my MTV and seeing this video...with my big perm...WOW the 80s!!! i also remember thinking WHY on earth did they put this girl in WHITE shoes...yukky yukky.
look whose wearing white shoes now...ha!!

LOL!
Shoot, girl, your 2 photos don't come through on my end. (sometimes they do, sometimes, don't.) I'd have loved to seen this photo with you in your "white shoes"!
I loved that video, too. No matter what shoes, that girl was certainly lucky! (And, "yes," Journey was one of my favorite 80's bands! See, I'm not THAT old, "Ms. S."! (So I keep telling myself, anyway.....)
