it is true that i've been ignoring this blog.
there are a couple reasons for it.
number one i'm damn busy..never a dull moment around here.
number two the subject on which i would want to write about has changed dramatically. when douglas was ill and the bteam was muddling thru our first year without him the things i would write about were 'expected'...our pain was raw but not surprising to anyone..
other than my political commentaries (when i did them) i really wasn't much of a pot sturrer.
number three when i was in ky i was free to write about the everyday stuff without any hesitation of running into somebody i was writing about...again..my subjects were still pretty safe.
but when it was suggested to me to sign off...i had to pause...
it is true...Facebook has taken over my laptop time...facebook fits in easily with my day.
it is an opportunity for ME to know what everyone is doing...
easy to find out who is running
who is up at the crack of dawn
who's kids are sick
who's house has been broken into
what color everyone's bra is..
ya know...
plugged in
but sign off the blog.
it would be easy for sure.
there were days when i fancied myself with an audience awaiting my musings and felt the obligation to write.
sometimes it was pressure.
then, my life started taking a turn.
an upturn really.
but a turn that isn't expected or comfortable for my friend and family to read.
i mean,
doug's buddies read ( i think) are they ready to hear my musing of the single girl lookin for an adult 'friend'?
do my parents really want to know what i'm doing now that i'm not an ol'married woman.
when i'm pissed off by someone around me...will the readers try and figure out who i'm talking about.
i think...i think what i'm afraid of is being honest...open to criticism..cuz for sure i'll have more to criticize now that i won't be hiding behind the whole heartbreak of cancer and loss of a spouse...
i imagine that my subject matter will turn more adult..if i continue to write and by write i mean...reeelly write..i'd have to get my girls to stop reading.
i can secure it and require a log in to read.
that might work...
or i could go comando and start a new blog....
what do you all have to say??

I think you should do what you are most comfortable with. I have a family blog and a not-so-family blog. I think it is really great to have a place for family memories and a place for you to share YOU and your thoughts, new adventures and fears and wants. I'd hate to miss out on either!
I am working fulltime now and this helps me stayed connected.........PLEASE don't stop! Signed, Selfish me
I know what you feel like, there are just some things you aren't comfortable with the family and friends knowing. But it is helpful to get things off of your chest.
My mom is on facebook but dosen't go on it which I am thankful for.
I do not want her knowing all I am doing. (I am a grandmother myself, just so you know my age category)
Do what every you are comfortable with yourself.
Even though I don't know you personaly I have been keeping you and yours in my prayers.
Ann
I like hearing how you all are doing but do what is best for you!! Brandi
S - You have to know that I've missed your blog tremendously. I do keep up on the Facebook but your blog was completely therapeutic for me...and your writing style "had me at hello." I was a fan even before Doug's diagnosis (remember the Big Comfy Couch?). If you end up going the private blog route please, please, please give me the password!!!
Love from your completely selfish friend,
Stalker Hel
