Last night was the last production of the Broadway series. I've had season tickets for the past two years...i get two seats for each show in teh series and then i take turns with the kids going to see the shows...or in some cases sending the big girls alone for a big girl night out.
It isn't really about the show as much as it is time spent with the kids individually..
Last night was 'the' night for Koen to have his first Theater Experience. Last month for our date we went to Sonic for supper and he loved eating IN the car sitting IN the front seat with the tray hanging from the window. he just thought that was the neatest thing...so i was a bit nervous how to TOP that...
He chose to go to Bob Evans for supper...and had of course mac-n-cheese and broccoli...he chose to get a bag of candy to take to the show rather than ice cream sundae. It was an enjoyable meal...although he insisted in sitting in teh booth with me....
now you know...sometimes you see grownup couples out together sitting in a booth and actually sitting on the same side...
i personally think that is weird...and uncomfortable.
Like his father...Koen is left handed which makes the whole sitting side by side thing even worse...
but koen isn't old enough to know that..
so....after ordering his supper he climbed over next to me...
wasn't sooo bad...snuggling with my little guy....
but......
i was unusually early for the show which gave us enough time to walk around the theater. he was fascinated by the orchestra pit and looking up into the balcony...
thank goodness he thinks the balcony is cool...cuz thats where my seats are..:)
he counted all of the exit signs and we visited the 'bar' for a sprite.
he behaved so so so well!!! he had the usual five year old boy wiggles...but again...a benefit of the balcony on a weeknight gives him the wiggle room he needs...
he was able to march in our row and swing his arms around to 'conduct' the music...
what a pleasure for me....!!!
we got home well after bedtime of course and he just fell asleep in my bed....
a nice night for mommy..

I know how much Mr. K was looking forward to his "date". What a wonderful thing to do for/with your kids. I remember Disney on Ice when you were little and the circus with those scary clowns.

Sounds like a lot of fun. He is really a neat kid.I like having Miss K sitting next to in the booth because every once in awhile she gives me a hug.
