first day over and out..

i've never been one to 'diet'...
i have 'done' weight watchers one time and that was after i had victoria...and it was easy to loose the baby fat...

since then..i've had periods of sensible eating and periods of not so sensible eating..i've had periods of high physical activity and periods of no physical activity.

never have i been a consistent observer of a healthy lifestyle.
as much as i like the appearance of order and sanity....
there is just something about food....

lurking below this grey hairline is a non-conformists that says
'oh yeah, watch this, I'll eat it and darn well enjoy it!!

really i'm just a lazy white girl that can't commit too long...
OR

my parents did a good job of raising an independent thinker!!

either way, after seeing a couple friends transform into gorgeous creatures before my very eyes i decided to take the leap back into Weight Watchers.

i attended my very first meeting tuesday evening.
typical...
mostly women
always one that talks too much and puts their hand up to answer each and every question the presenter asks...talks the entire time...having some nugget of information to share...ugh
mostly all overweight..
no beauty queens (well NOT counting me and jeni of course)

i'm awarded 25 points a day for my rounded edges
(there are those out there that can quickly determine my weight..so keep it to yourself)
suffice it to say that i'm that same damn weight i was over a year ago when i started working out with Ben the Trainer..

does that suck or what.....sheesh...

anyway..
so 25 points i've got to play with plus an additional 35 points per week ( i think of those points as cheatin' points)
then there is the accumulation of Activity Points = one point for each 15 mintues of real sweating!!

yesterday was my first full day on program.
it wasn't easy...
i was consumed by what was going in my mouth.
i was going thru my pantry calculating the point value of the food
Papa brought over a box of Oreos..for the wee ones...and yogurt for me and babybells for the big girls..

any other day i would have enjoyed at least five of those oreos...
didn't eat a'one..
but thought about them all day...
ALL DAMN DAY
kind of like Lent and Diet Pepsi...

late in the evening i got a call from one of my runner friends who also is one of those gorgeous creatures widdlin'away'to'nothin'
i told her about my day.
her warning to me
'don't go getting into that diet mentality' 'this is about choice'

another dear friend who is having her success with WW emailed me to encourage me to
'eat all of your points'

I did eat all of my points.
i snacked on celery and raisins and two slices of roast beef...oh yeah and an apple
had a breakfast/ a lunch/ and a supper.

as i layed in bed to read...
i did feel a tad hungry
i just tuned it out of my mind

it ain't bad to feel a little hungry every now and again...

***************************

its a new day today:
have earned 6 extra points by running 6 miles
i've had my breakfast...
i know what i'm having for lunch...
gotta think about supper yet...but most likely the pork tenderloin in the fridge.

have two ironing jobs to get done today!!

I'm very proud of you. I have a points calculator somewhere...I'll look for it. Great for grocery stores and going out to eat. I also have their books. Perhaps I should take another look at them myself. I got 22 points per day....and figured I could use them for two white castles....and did. Keep up the good work sweetheart.
