Happy sunday y'all...tee hee, just trying out my accent. saturday was a busy and productive day. don't you love it when you lay down at night and know that you have accomplished so much??
the day started with swimteam practice at the dome. the highschool pool where V practices has a dome over it...it has been way too hot to swim there the past week, but this morning was in the mid 70's and she was excited. after i dropped her off, i headed to Cracker Barrel who had a employment ad in the paper. i filled out an application and set an interview with the manager for tomorrow. the position is retail sales/cashier. not sure about the hours at this point and how flexible weekends are, but will see on monday when i talk to her. from there, i went to the hotel that we stayed in when we came down for our visit in may. they are hiring evening front desk and night auditor 3rd shift. i will follow up with the manager on monday. getting a discount on lodging would be a great perk don't you think??? since ALL of you are coming down for a visit right!! i stopped in at Chico's (my favorite clothing store) but they are not hiring at this time. picked V up and then ran to Target to get her some toiletries that she had left at my mom's house last week. we also stopped by a purse store and she got herself a new purse...friend CK had gotten her a darling purse for her birthday, but with so much use it is getting worn and she doesn't want it to get too worn. anyway, so this is the place where everyone gets their Vera Bradley knock offs. the entire store was full of quilted bags. V and i both agreed that if the girl scout troop comes down for a visit..this is a must see store.
came home. miss R had done a wonderful job helping with the wee ones while daddy got busy on his 'honey do' list. see pics below. his list is now finished and mommy is a happy lady.
ran out to Aldi and did my grocery shopping.
ran out again to a store that sells the Vera Bradley bags. I wanted to just see what else the fall collection included. i found a great backpack and exchanged the purse from mom and bert. also got a little zip purse for personal items. the shop that sells the purses is a 'fine gifts' store. definetly the place where families register for their silver, china and wedding ensembles. i asked the manager if she knew where i might look for evening part time work,,,and she got a big smile on her face...SHE is looking for an evening gift wrapper. store closes at 6 and only after the store closes is there time to wrap the gifts that people have purchased. I'm thrilled at the potential opportunity there. i can wrap gifts...i can remember when i was about 10, my mother hired me out to a 'rich' lady she knew that needed help wrapping presents. i sat in her living room and wrapped a mountain of gifts for some spending money.
stopped at Pier One and spent my gift card on some serving dishes and then ran through starbucks for some frappacinos for the girls and I. you know, i don't know who to blame for my starbucks obsession...me or EB.....ha ha.
ran back out to kmart to look for flag poles for our buckey flag, they were out of them.
back home, made dinner for all my hard workers.
got the volleyball net up and then lazed around until bedtime.
phew, what a long day.
so....a couple administrative things:
friend in nashville is home and doing well - will probably go for a visit this week.
friend EB and family home from Hawaii...delays but all in one piece
friend JH has interview monday also...YOU'RE going to be great!!!
enjoy some pics from the day.
