so after i dropped mr k off at school. i headed down to Dr. Sikora's office (the doc that i spoke to last night, she is the pulmonologist who gave us the original bad news) i walked right into her office, katharine on my hip, notebook and pen in my hand and a wild look in my eyes....
she was dictating notes to a nurse.
she came up to me
i fell apart
i said i need you to help me save my husband
she touched my shoulder
took the pen from my hand
wrote down her home phone number and said call me after 7 tonight
she then told me to go back downstairs and order copies of all of his test thus far.
i have them!
is she the best???? or WHAT!! i offer much thanks for her!!
i have typed up the written reports and sent them off to AMY Z to see if anyone she knows can review.
douglas came home for a nap at lunch.
he has refused narcotics thus far to help him sleep (calm the cough down) because he says it will bind him up.
i told him today that he'll just have to suffer an enema that i'm getting him something to help him sleep better! he needs his strength and sleep helps that!
i thank all of you that are sending clinical trial information and hospital information and alternative treatments.
we will consider all!
i am for now, focused on getting him to see the oncologist for her mode of treatment.

you go girl, you've got chutzpah. Way to take the reigns and go for what you need. Convince d to take the narcotics and some peri colace to soften it up. He needs good healing sleep.
