First day of break

oh boy....a busy first day for us.
hubby up and at'em first thing...which was nice...coffee was ready when i rolled out of bed...THANKS DOUG!!
big girls got to sleep in as i got the wee ones up and ready for the day.
i had a wonderfully weird dentist appt. this morning. the first of two crowns....( i always seem to have major work done after the birth of each child - wives' tales suggest that it is because of calcium being 'taken by the baby'..however my dentist debunks such ideas...all i know for sure is that after each of our children i have had to have some type of major dental work done)
i did not work myself up into a bundle of nerves like i usually do to go to the dentis. i was pretty calm as i checked in and grabbed a magazine to read while i waited. after a bit i was called back. my dentist is new to the practice (not to denistry) she recently relocated back here with her husband. anyway, she is really darling and very friendly. she welcomed me warmly as i came back to the 'stall'. i asked the hygentist if i could leave the cell phone out on the table in case the girls called and then asked her if she knew how to work an ipod becauase had brought V's with me. yes to both the questions as i settled in the chair.
we reviewed what was to happen today as she layed me back to get me knumb. first the hygentist swabbed my mouth with some gel that tasted funny but started to do the trick. next came a shot...i have to laugh...have you ever noticed how 'strategic' a dentist is with hiding the needles off to the side or down below your line of sight? i was feeling ok....i was jamming to some HIgh school musical song when WHAM....she pulls the needle out and i sit ram-rod straight right up in the chair. all the hair on my head was standing at attention and the dentist and the higentist both grab for my chart...they say something about epinephrine being in the anestesia...and that my chart didn't indicate a problem with it...i kid you not i started rushing....i could barely see or hear...i pulled hanna montana out of my ears and when i tried to lay back in the chair my heart was beating so hard that my sweater was going up and down...the dentists assurs me that it won't last too long as the two of them continue to stare at me (I'm thinking...hell, this aint that bad...it was just a crazy crazy feeling...ha) after a few minutes my heart indeed gets back to a normal rythem and they lay me back down to get busy on this tooth. well, needless to say, five more shots later this poor lady can really get down to business. apparently, the way my nerves are wrapped around my jaw it is difficult to get a good 'numb' going on.
NOTE TO SELF>>>be sure and get five shots next month for the next crown.
NOTE TO MY CHART>>no more epinephrine shots....i think i liked it a bit too much!
two hours later i was out of there and on my way to panera bread for lunch for my big girls for babysitting for me!! (thumbs down for the new harvest salad)

later in the afternoon we decide to go to the play ground as the temperature outside was perfect and mr. k can always do with a good run-around-sue session.

my friend Barb meets me at the park with a few of her kids (picture of EV at left)

with a coffee for me (she is all excited about this creamer she got that tasts like mint chocolate chips and shares it liberally with anyone who drinks coffee) we hang out for a bit and enjoy the sunshine!! wow, it really was a pretty day!

V had practice while mr. k and i took a nap (see the pic) my tooth really started to throb so i took a couple tylenol.

after supper V and i went to the mall to do her christmas shopping... she got her sister something very nice!!! (i have to add that since R reads this blog daily and it is killing her to NOT know what is waiting for her) sorry peachy girl!!!

my tooth is still throbbing, so when hubby took his pain meds for bedtime i finally opened my homemade wine from WW....see W, i knew i was waiting for the right moment!!! now is the time!!! and then i'll just store the bottle for next month when i have the other tooth done! takes the edge off that is for sure!!

have started making lists of things to take back to OH with us this weekend. uniform pieces and parts to give to other moms. child proof hardware for joy's house - Tupperware for K&P from their soup delivery - pictures for doug's mom - tell me, do i need to dig out and unpack our snow gear????? is Jim calling for snow.??? i can't say no to my son if it falls...and would prefer for him to be prepared....anyone have a crystal ball handy?

Three days and counting!!!

want to offer prayers for anyone traveling this weekend in case i forget as i get more and more excited and detail oriented with my planning/packing....

Nana/Papa/Father/Baba..did you listen to the new music line up? i included some oldies on there....i had to laugh,,,R said to me...'i've never heard elvis b4)....

side note: i don't think the spell check is working this evening...
