some good...some not so good

we are all home now...(well actually doug and mr. k are out looking for the movie James and the Giant Peach) but the day is done and we'll be settling in for our weekend.

We were told today that the two original tumors (one lung/one sacrum) have shrunk meaning that the chemo cocktail he was taking did some of what it is supposed to do...but that two more tumors have developed...(one lymphnodel/one other sacrum).
Douglas did not get chemo and we are comforted by the fact that this weekend and coming week will not be spent working the 'chemo kit'.
Douglas will move onto Clinical Trial meds and his doctor will be investigating trials in Nashville, Lexington and Louisville (those are locations that are easily traveled to in a day) this weekend and he told us to expect to hear from him by monday afternoon.

We are tossing the idea around that we should auction Doug on Ebay to the drug companies for their trials..the reality is Doug is young and otherwise healthy and would certainly do much for the drug company's statistics. The three of us got a little chuckel at that thought today in the doctors office.

We continue to be confident in Dr. Smith's recomendations and feel that he has our best interest at heart!
WE (all) have an oportunity to look at this news as either Half Full or Half Empty.
I continue to be amased at my husband's ability to manage his illness and frankly his mental state. He is just the epitome of strength when it comes to this stuff. Here is another one of those Engaged Encounter moments...when i realize that sometimes i get so angry when he doesn't get all upset and out of wack about something that completly pushes me over the edge...and here...'that' reaction that has made me so angry at times...saves me today...You would all be so so proud of him!!!
After a Wendy's lunch together....he went back to work....called ME midway through the afternoon to find out how I was managing and he reminded me that the Good News is the cancer had not spread to an organ!!! We are to be grateful!!
How true that is!!

The PET scan didn't give us the miracle we are praying for.YET!!!..but pray for it we continue to do!!!
I was told that our douglas will be made a special intention at a celebration of the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday in Northern Ohio this weekend. We are honored that you would make us part of your special pilgrimage! Thank You to the C family of Emo!!

Go make it a great weekend!! We intend to!!!

*******brief sidenote....
James and the Giant Peach
was not to be found ...anyone have a copy they no longer watch???????

We'll look for the movie. In the mean time, let me now if someone else finds it.

Haven't heard from the other Stalkers out there for awhile.....what is everyone doing to prepare for Spring?

Love & Kisses All Around.
