what were you doing 15 years ago????

right about now i was feeling like the most beautiful girl in the world. i really do think that a woman's wedding day is the one time in our lives that we get to have that 'disney' moment. i loved my dress, i loved my flowers, i loved my guy and i was excited for everyone to see my chocolate iced cake (way B4 Ace of Cakes by the way). It was The single best day of my life!!!
Today is no exception...i love my khaki shorts,,,i Love Love Love my NEW flowers (around the house) and Papa just dropped off some chocolate!! How good is my life???

today has been busy...the mattress was dropped off, the cable guys came back to do some additional jack work...(couldn't do the guest room though...TOO much insulation in the attic) damn, its tough to be so blessed!!!! will figure out some other solution.
the newspaper folks were here...interviewed hubby and i...that was kind of neat....i guess it is our 10 minutes of fame.

tonight douglas and i will spend the evening in the MRI lab at OSU. he will be 'lit up like a Christmas tree' by 8pm. i've asked him to ask if they will take a chest exray of us standing together...so we can get a picture or our hearts side by side...but he said probably not..i'm sure he is right...but what a great scrapbook page that would be eh??? (yes Kim...i'm getting closer and closer to my supplies)
thx to aunt sue and mary for coming over to hang with the kids while we're out.

he is feeling so much better now that the radiation has worn off. the tumor in the middle of his back is acting up..but for the most part he is wide awake all day now....in a selfish way i don't want him to start the chemo next week...just when i get my love back...he'll be knocked down again by the meds. It is likely that he will loose his hair again...and this time we'll have to be more cautious of germs since we're in a new environment....better go get myself a gross of those surgical masks...hey...we can have a decorating contest on them..i think my mother wanted to do that last year..yes, i think we just might have to do that....
the best mask gets a....gets a....Mother what do you suggest?

Lord,
We are at the beginning of traveling a wonderful journey together.
We know where we have been...the sorrows and joys, triumphs and tragedies of our past lives.
We do not know what lies ahead.
There will be problems as well as pleasures.
Our hours of happiness together will be interrupted by times of despair...the road will sometimes be rough, but ...We are grateful that we can travel it together.
We pray that we will always walk side by side, supporting each other.
May we receive from You and from each other the grace and strength we need.
May we discover in the midst of difficult hours, that deep inner peace and joy knowing that we are surrounded by Your loving care, and that we need never lose our way because You have promised to be our light.

you know when i think back on the first time i read this prayer....what parts meant the most to me...'happiness together'...'traveling a wonderful journey together'...'walk side by side'...
and how now there are different parts that mean the most to me...interrupted by times of despair'..grace and strength we need'...surrounded by Your loving care'...

God is good all the time.
