ok, i really think my emo mom's ought to start a holiday meal assembly line. each and every dish we received was a dish made for FOOD network. they were beautiful prepared and presented, they were delicious yesterday and TODAY!! :) i can tell that my girlfriends shared their masterpieces. how cool would it be if we all mass produced our own favorite masterpiece and then just ran around the neighborhood assembling our meals??? i'd be happy to provide the molsen!! :)
ok and i gotta just publish this since i told everyone...Ms. C O'D is the master of meat!!!! i tell you that woman does amazing things with things with a heartbeat!! the turkey was moist and delicious. it took everything we had NOT to plow into it on wed night!!! well done my friends!! well done!! GO MEAT!!
one of the mom's sent along this cute little edible craft idea. good thing i didn't eat all of the chocolate covered graham crackers that day!! i was all geeked out when i found them chillin' in the garage...i had a hot cup of coffee in my hand and had peaked out to the garage (just to be sure it all wasn't a dream) and that package of cookies caught my eye...and within minutes...my left hand had managed to rip open the cookies and swipe two....a few minutes later i was grabbing one for Lu telling her how great this cookie was going to taste...gee did i feel dumb when friend and fellow apron wearer was talking about an edible craft that had been sent over for the kids to do....here is a pic of the kids enjoying what was left of those cookies!!! :)
had a chance to share my wonderful leftovers this afternoon as some men friends of ours came over to help move the bedroom upstairs. i had planned on doing it today...but was surprised how long it took me to get my heart out of my throat. as i got under the bed and pulled out different boxes and then pulled the drawers out of his dresser it felt like my throat and chest had reversed positions. my big girls were very supportive of their mother today...i went from crazy banshee mom to broken balling about to fall apart mom. i need to publicly thank them for their patience and tolerance today.
hubby would be thrilled to know that i was able to light a fire all by myself. had Pete show me (again) how to be sure the flu was opened and i burned a cleaning log that my dad picked up. the only other time i had to light a fire by myself was on james rd. when the furnace broke and it was subzero out and hubby was down on campus going to classes all day and i had the two little girls at home. oh boy can i remember that conversation....i was completely paranoid that i was going to blow the house up....i think he would be proud of me that i was able to do it and then have a fire for the children to enjoy. the back room looks lovely....so lovely....it looks exactly how we would have enjoyed it together he and i.
i hope to get the Christmas decorations out tomorrow and sunday. some of you know that i like to have a tree in each room. wacko i know...but fun to do. ms. r and i have decided that we are going to do a tribute tree to hubby....it will be fun for the wee one's to have their first bedroom tree this year...
i've been reading all of the wonderful condolence cards that we are receiving...many of them talk of celebrating the memories....so, this evening when i was driving ms. V to the movies..i thought about all of the concerts that doug and i have gone to over the years...here are some quick videos that i found....enjoy them...perhaps they'll bring back some happy memories of your own!
i also went through a big box of his CDs. He had a love of music. and a love of movie soundtracks. it is a love his son shares, i often hear mr. k humming the background music when he is watching his movies. I plan on doing my kitchen work tomorrow while listening to Big Ted and the Monsters.

Is Big Ted the same as Big Head Todd?
I hope you are enjoying your day of decorating!
Love the videos. Now that is music! Seen some of those artists in concert myself. Rock on!
I love the idea that Ms. R wants a tree for Doug.
