when we first arrived back home i did something that i've always wanted to do and that was to purchase Broadway series tickets. i got a two seat package. My thought behind the two seat package was when there was a grown up show, douglas and i could go and then one of us would take the girls to the musicals for a date night. our first show was the Nixon play and there was no way that douglas could sit that long in those theater seats...so we just went out for the evening.
tonight was the second show in the series and it was Grease. I remember going to see Grease at the movies way back in the bla bla bla's with Pam H now C. it was a good then as it is today. and when the girls got old enough to sing songs i bought our first DVD of the movie. needless to say we all know the words to all of the songs. i was thrilled when i saw that Grease the stage performance was coming to town. tonight was ms. R's turn for a date with mom.
we started out with dinner in our favorite date spot - Logans Roadhouse. we shared a 8oz steak, fries and bakes sweet potato. we had to swing through CVS for a bottle of mylanta (my peach had a sudden bout of tummy pains) and we headed down to the Palace. this was the first time for me to sit in our series seats and...well, i know have a better idea of where to pick tickets for the Palace. our seats are off to the right instead of the middle...and i think that i will even consider lower balcony next year...anyway...the seats were not that bad...but now i have an idea of what to look for in the future. i had half a mind to ask the couple in front of us if they are season ticket holders b/c the husband is tall....
whine whine whine WEin...get on with it...
so the show was fantastic!!! really very good. and guess who played Teen Angel??? none other than Taylor Hicks...remember him...the winner of 2006 American Idol...??? he looks better in person than on stage by the way...he was animated and funny in his brief role and when he broke out his harmonica the crowd went wild. i had forgotten that he played it...and i remember thinking how cool that was when he was comepeting...and now seeing it played in person i do believe i think the harmonica playing is a bit sexy. i think a musical man tends to be sexy anyway...NOT that i ever wanted to be a rockstar wife...but....well, i think i would have given Phil Collins a chance way back when tee hee!!
at intermission the two of us headed out to check out the tshirts. ms. R picked a cute one as you can see...

gotta give a shout out to aunt mary and victoria for hanging out with the little ones....ms. V..you do such a good job with your little brother and sister...
it was a very nice evening...i'm feeling very lucky to be able to share special times with my children. Thank You Jesus!!
goodnight all.

Oh, how I loved Grease!! I remember singing it at the TOP of my lungs - unfortunately for my parents I was wearing headphones so all they could hear was me screeching!
