My little bit of irish roots...

one of my cousins' sent an email out today to wish the family a happy St. Patrick's day....she mentioned this song...a song that my aunt sis sang, who learned from her mom Grace (ms. R's middle name sake) - my great grandmother ....i do have some irish blood running through these veins....i think that is where most of our Catholic history comes from...my cousin MB is our family historian and she had some absolutely wonderful - self sacrifice to pull together our Family Tree. she has unearthed pictures and stories and even traveled to Ireland to dig up 'our dirt'.
Here is a picture of Doc Houston - one of my irish branches....maybe one of my family will comment more on our Irish heritage..... is he not the cutest???? i can see a little bit of my MR K in him???

i will NOT however be participating in the festivities tomorrow....alas...i have put off my boob smashing long enough....i will work out and then go for mammogram....

Ms. V is getting her term paper under control....she is preparing her first 'real' term paper, it is on Illegal Immigration...she is concerned that she does not have a primary source. she asked me if i knew any illegal immigrants that she could meet with. this is a time when i miss my doug. this particular topic is not something that we agreed on very often....for me i drive down to population rates and the positive impact that the rise in birth rate our 'immigration' 'problem' can bring....because...you know...there is a positive side to it should anyone care to know.....

i think it is imperative for my children to see/hear both sides of an issue....and pretty much she ALWAYS got BOTH sides of an issue. That is not to say that we didn't agree on anything....that isn't true...but....for most hot button political topics mr. b and are were polar opposites.
