a good few minutes.

since i'm on a roll talking about Great things that happen to me...
i had a great few minutes while supper was cooking.
i had to type up board meeting notes for our board meeting this evening. (yes, i joined the board of V's swimteam) they were desperate and potentially folding..so..
so i was typing up notes.. and needed to confirm a couple things on email so i logged on..
guess what...??? i have an email from Macy's asking me to schedule for an interview!! yippy....work...again...me...grownups....put dinner on the table and run...oh yeah!!
another email was from Hillary ..i of course logged in and requested my yard sign.
well, it seems that there is a Phone Bank Day this saturday. it runs all day and well, it is MY birthday...and well....i can campaign if i want to!!!
i signed up!! it is my birthday gift to myself!!

i'm so excited that we here in our state will have an opportunity to participate in the process.....so many people are getting that opportunity this time around...pretty cool country we live in eh...we could be living on an island starving to death because our military is paranoid and won't allow help to arrive.

i honestly haven't been this excited about a political race since Ronald Reagan came to my college to campaign...weird..how i viewed our political system back then...but i have to offer this..i can go back to my writings from the 80's..and you know what...my poetry was filled with fearful observations of the then Soviet Union and the Iron Curtain....just like we are now fearful of the Islam's nations...and our 'position' in the world.

and, you all know how much i love Colbert...Kurt B...look who was on a while ago???

i worry about health care..ALOT NOW!!.how will i afford it when i need it???
lets see COBRA = $850ish easy
why must i MAKE myself 'qualify' by being around the poverty level b4 i can obtain medical care for me and my children? why can i not pay for health care based on my income and BE ABLE to work?

another observation....we have long been promoting democracy and capitalism...we have touted the wonderful things to be gained by a free economy and an equal say for all...we've placed military bases in all countries we've ever fought..and still have them there...but, why when India and China have taken us at our word and begun implementing some of our economic policies are we FREAKING out?? aren't they doing what we've told them to do all along????

and maybe just maybe we have something to learn from others...like how to provide health care for all>>> oh wait, that would mean the doctors would return to their humble colonial beginnings where they were 'just like everybody else', yes, more educated of course...but econmically closer to the masses than today. in some countries where national health care is 'provided' and insurance companies are NOT considered a FOR PROFIT organization doctors are on the same level as a teacher or factory worker. they go to work each day, they come home each day..but guess what??? they really get to 'make a difference' everyday....have a real impact on those around them...do they really need to earn so much more to be allowed to have that feeling???

yes, i'm on my high horse...NO i am NOT sitting here with a cold molsen...but..pay day is tomorrow...tee hee...
