Today was mr. k's first day back to PDO = parents day out. Common down here in the south, most churches (any denomination) offers what they call Parents Day Out. It is not Day Care and it isn't Preschool per se. however, it is a fabulous thing that i sure do wish our town would embrace. basically it is a structured environment for ages 2 - 4/5 from 9-2 a few days a week. Enough time to get your grocery shopping done, go to a gyno appt. ALONE!!! or you know what...just plain ol' veg out ALL FOR FIFTEEN bucks a day!!! YES...i said $15 per day. when we moved here my first girlfriend Ivana, our parish administrator told me about it. i had gone over to the parish office to turn in all of our registration paperwork...and she said..go in that door and talk to them about getting Mr. K in...maybe there is a spot! indeed there was!! There is some mild oversight by the state as far as credentialing goes..and lets face it...oversight of fellow mom's is pretty effective..so word of mouth can make or break a program. For the churches here there are 'educational rooms' that are only used in the evenings/weekends so it provides a nice little revenue stream for unused space!!
Our parish' program is excellent!!! if i do say so myself! Here he is this morning. He walked right in and found a friend from last year and went in search of a power ranger or other 'boy toy'!! I was so proud of him!!! so different from this time last year!!
On my way out i hung out with Fr. Jerry and had a cup of joe (thanks Ivana - she has secret stash of Tim Hortons that ships in from the north and she shared with me!)

- we touched base on a few important topics as you can expect...gee wiz i'm going to miss him!! just what a super kewl guy!! and he has always supported my talk when discussing Mr. K's potential priesthood!! I like that a lot!.
In other good news...Hubby graduated from radiation!! we are so so happy that it is over. they gave him a certificate of completion....(what is up with that???) i laughed when he told...like,,,,Congratualtions...you NOW glow in the dark!!! and by the way...be prepared for a strip search if traveling by air anytime soon! He is to expect to feel tons better inside of a week!! and be able to eat way more also!!! which will make me happy!!
We continue to stalk Michael Phelps...all that underwater footage has served V well, tonight at practice she completed a main set of 4 X 250's all under 3:30!! i think that underwater footage proves to be so helpful....
alright, well time to get my kids all tucked in..
nite nite!!!
