out of the OR

took about four hours to do the bronc to confirm that there are no tumors in the bronchial. took a couple times to get in to do the pleuraldesis, hubby's O2 levels would not stay stable very long but the docs stuck to it and got in long enough to drain 2 liters from hubby's right lung...leaving him about 6 pounds lighter!!! the pleuraldesis was about 80% effective and we'll wait for hubby to rally to the point where they can remove the chest tube and we'll see how well that lung is going to hold air and not accumulate more fluid. doc said hubby went from having the use of one lung to having about 1 and half. that's a good thing.

it is our goal to get hubby home as soon as possible. we can do that as soon as he rallies enough to be strong enough to breath on his own and get a good meal in him. doc said could be another week here...doc did say that he has sent guys home with the chest tube...so...i'd say our ultimate goal is nutrition and energy and get him on back to the hood!!

just want to announce publicly that i DID call my house to talk to my daughters but they were asleep and didn't hear the phone...

my shep is here with me and we are waiting to hear if hubby is coming back here to the room or going to ICU....

so we wait...

so many of you in the last couple days have offered to help with the little ones...well, i've tried to assure you that i would indeed ask when i needed your help. i think that time has come...i'm thinking that hubby is going to be here for wee little time so....those that can help me have some time up here with my guy and take over with the kids would be most most most appreciated...

for now...i'm going to go shoo madame shep out and on her way and i'm going to keep hubby's bed warm till he gets back....

thanks for staying up with me.....now go to bed!!
